This edition presents a version for two bass clarinets (or B flat clarinets) of the first collection of Six Sonatas in duets for bassoons by Etienne Ozi.
Considered the greatest bassoonist of his time, Ozi was also one of the most important composers and teachers of his instrument.
The interest of this faithful adaptation is twofold: In addition to a real musical value, these Sonatas allow bass clarinetists to study the classical style: The new possibilities of expression and the technical challenge that these represent offer an obvious educational interest, advantageously complementing the existing repertoire.
